Standard Radiographs

• Antero-posterior (AP) - useful in diagnosing and evaluating:
• Medial malleolus fractures
• Lateral malleolus fractures
• Osteochondral fractures
• Lateral - useful in diagnosing and evaluating:
• Anterior or posterior displacement of the talus
• Anterior or posterior tibial margin fractures
• Fibula fractures or dislocations
• Talar neck fractures
• Mortice view - useful in diganosing and evaluating:
• Disruption of the syndesmotic ligaments (depicted on x-ray as a widened tibiofibular clear space)
• Oblique

Computer Tomography (CT)
