Single Forearm Bone Fractures

Fractures of the radius or the ulna alone are uncommon.

Mechanism of Injury

These fractures usually arise from a direct blow to the arm.

Clinical Features

The patient complains of pain following an injury, with tenderness found along fracture site.

Radiographs show a transverse fracture of either the radius or ulna with slight displacement. Fractures of the ulnar bone are easily missed.
