Summary

Traction (11/12)till fragmentation stops then broomstick (15-12), NWB,good results with high grade, poor results with head at risk and late age of onset. Believe surgery bad for high grade.

Reference

Summary

63 Fem Ost vs 85 Cont = 50% improved vs 14%. NWB doesnt

improve results. Shortening only a prob if at capital epiphysis, beware older patient. Surgery more beneficial with higher grade.

Age at op < 6yrs= good result

Critique

Retrospective look at disease duration. Small numbers of high grade who didnt have surgery. same controls WB no diff.
