Golfer's Elbow

Also Known as

  • Medial epiconylitis or Golfer's Elbow

What is it?

  • It is inflammation of the medial epicondyle

Epidemiology

  • Less common than lateral epiconylitis (Tennis elbow).

Aetiology

  • Caused by a tear or degeneration of the flexor muscle origin at the medial epicondyle
    • Most commonly ocurs as a result of overuse of the forearm muscles
    • Can also occur as a result of a direct blow to the inner aspect of the forearm
